Thank you for visiting my blog. Here’s a bit about me and why I started this blog:-
After years of ignoring my increasing cholesterol levels, I got a big wake up in February 2016 when I found out my cholesterol was in the high-risk category. I decided I could no longer sweep it under the carpet, so made it my mission to find out how to reduce my cholesterol and keep it low, as I didn’t want to end up having to take statins.
After doing a lot of research and getting advice from medical and health professionals, I made adjustments to my diet to see if I could lower my cholesterol naturally. By reducing the amount of saturated fat in my diet, and adding cholesterol-reducing foods to my meals, I managed to reduce my cholesterol in just 6 weeks, and thankfully it has stayed low ever since.
I decided to create this blog to record and share all the things I’ve learned along the way, (summarised on this page), and hopefully help other people in similar situations.
My goal is to avoid ever having to take statins, because of all the reported side effects, and it would be amazing if this blog meant that other people could also avoid having to take them. Even if it helps just one other person in the world, it will all have been worth it.
I should probably mention, I have a normal 9-5 job (I work as a digital analyst in London) and two young kids. So, like a lot of you, I don’t have a huge amount of time to prepare lavish meals. This has motivated me to come up with my own quick and easy recipes, and to find other simple online cholesterol-friendly recipes that tick all the boxes. I’ve created this page with links to all of these recipes, which I update every time I find or create a new one. Hopefully you will find this useful too.
